SUMMARY:What’s In Store for H-2B 2024
DESCRIPTION:The H-2B program has a statutory cap limitation of 66\,000 visas\, 33\,000 allotted for the first half of the fiscal year and 33\,000 for the second half of the fiscal year.  The first half of the fiscal year is from October 1 through March 31st with the second half from April 1 through September 30.  \n\nOn July 10\, 2023\, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that it received applications for more than 33\,000 visas during the initial 3 day filing window for the Fiscal Year 2024 1st half cap.  This is the first time this has occurred in the 1st half of the year and the earliest it has ever happened. \nIn June\, the House Appropriations Committee passed the FY ’24 Homeland Security appropriations bill that includes a one-year returning worker exemption with a three-year look back. This is a very important first step in H-2B Cap Relief. \nJoin FEWA’s lobbying partner\, Laurie Flanagan and FEWA’s Vice President\, Arnulfo Hinojosa in a live discussion on what this means for the H-2B 2024 season. \nYou can attend the webinar by computer or by telephone.  Once registered you will receive your log-in instructions.  If you have any immediate questions or would like additional information regarding FEWA Membership and the H-2B program\, please reach out to us directly.
