Theresa joined FEWA at the end of 2019, shortly after earning her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Houston-Victoria.
Upon graduating, she was interested in work pertaining to human resources. After working for her family business, she took a position with FEWA as a Member Guide. She viewed the position as a twist on HR, but without the hiring and firing.
As a Member Guide, Theresa assists FEWA members through the visa process by handling emails, phone calls, detailed paperwork, and data entry. While the process repeats each year, the responsibility remains significant.
Accuracy matters, and she knows that even small errors can be costly for members. That diligence becomes especially important during busy seasons.
Learning the process took time. “You really have to go through the visa process for a full year to get the whole perspective of it,” she says. With the help of FEWA Training Coordinator Robin Svec and a dedicated team around her, she quickly gained confidence.
Theresa values FEWA’s supportive environment and describes it as a close-knit workplace where colleagues genuinely care about one another. That translates into exceptional member service from a friendly staff.
Outside of the office, Theresa’s life is just as full. She and her husband, Travis, are raising two sons in the rural community of Blessing, about 20 miles from the FEWA office in Bay City. Theresa also cares for six goats and enjoys tending to the many flowers around her home.
Her boys stay active in football and FFA, currently preparing to show a lamb and a goat. Between livestock projects, games, and family gatherings, their schedules stay busy year-round.
Still, Theresa finds balance in the simple things like time outdoors with her family.
From rural Texas to the detailed demands of federal visa processing, Theresa Luchak brings steadiness and heart to everything she does, making her an essential part of the FEWA family.
