At first glance, Vanessa Garcia’s job as a member guide with FEWA might seem like a lot of spreadsheets and systems — tracking job orders, data entry, filing applications and checking application responses. But anyone who knows Vanessa knows she brings far more than paperwork to her job.

Born and raised in Bay City, Texas, Vanessa was one of six children. After graduating from high school in 2007, she worked for a local pharmacy and earned her certification as a pharmacy technician.

She was there for nine years and during that time started her family—daughters Ameris and Delanie, and son Tristan. When he was born, she decided to stay at home. In 2018, she joined FEWA.

Vanessa took on more tasks, gained more skills and became an essential part of the FEWA family.  Today, she’s known among her colleagues for her consistency and composure that keep the team grounded, especially during H-2B application filing deadlines.

Her steady presence and friendly demeanor ensure FEWA’s member services run smoothly, even during the most demanding times.

As the mother of three and sister to five siblings, Vanessa understands the value of teamwork and support. That’s exactly what she found at FEWA.

“We’re a small team. After deadlines, we’ll go celebrate together over a meal or activity” she says. “It’s not just about getting the work done, it’s about being around people you enjoy and respect.”

When not working, Vanessa enjoys working out at the gym with her teenage daughters and attends her kids’ sporting events, including volleyball, soccer, softball and baseball.

In the family of FEWA, Vanessa’s attention to detail and collaborative mindset are key to the dependable service members count on. Her story is a reminder that behind every successful application filing, there is a team working closely to make it all happen.
