U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has received enough petitions to reach the congressionally mandated cap on H-2B visas for temporary nonagricultural workers for the first half of fiscal year 2025.

Sept. 18 was the final receipt date for new cap-subject H-2B worker petitions requesting an employment start date before April 1, 2025.  For more information, visit the  Cap Count for H-2B Nonimmigrants page.

FEWA and the H-2B Workforce Coalition are working with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Labor to utilize their authority to promptly make available 64,716 supplemental H-2B visas for FY 2025, as they did for FY 2024.

We’re also working with Committee Members on Appropriations to assure that any continuing resolution passed by Oct. 1, to keep the government funded, continues to include the administrations authority to release supplemental visas.

Please stay tuned for a call to action to reach out to your member of Congress.
