On Wednesday, June 14th, FEWA Vice President Arnulfo Hinojosa and several FEWA members will meet with their lawmakers in Washington, DC to urge Congress to pass a returning worker exemption as part of the Fiscal 2024 spending bill that funds the Department of Homeland Security.
This year FEWA’s annual H-2B Member Fly-In is partnering with the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) Legislative Days in Washington, D.C, to host one event on the Hill to discuss the importance of immediate and permanent H-2B cap relief.
Earlier this month, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security Committee passed the draft Fiscal Year 2024 funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security. In that draft bill, Subcommittee Chariman Dave Joyce (R-OH) and Subcommittee Ranking Member Henry Cuellar (D-TX) included an H-2B returning worker exemption.
